Course Description

This course will explore science units related to the big ideas of chemical interactions and energy flow. We will begin the year learning about the roles of matter and energy in different chemical reactions. This foundational knowledge will be applied to the study of a medical case, during which we will explore chemical reactions that occur in the human body. We will follow this theme “outwards” as we explore the cycling of matter and energy, first in plants and then in other organisms. We will end the year looking at Earth’s resources & impacts of human activities.
